From June 19 to 22, John Mohamed, president of Canada A&A Log Company, and Gregory Tai, sales director, and their entourage visited our group's Nanjing company and Arashiyama office one after another.
Canada A&A is an established forest management company in North America. It is a family enterprise integrating woodland acquisition, log felling, timber processing, forest product sales and export. The company was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Up to now, it has operated more than 50 million cubic meters of logs, and its products cover North America, Europe, Asia and other regions. Our company has deep ties with A&A companies. We have cooperated directly or indirectly for nearly 10 years. Nearly half of the logs recently imported have also come from this company. Among them, the logs purchased by Dongfang Group from A&A companies arrived at Arashiyama Port in May and June of this year, respectively, on the “Astoria Bay” and “Kangmei” ships, respectively.
The A&A team came to China for the first time since the end of the epidemic. They visited our company to discuss continued cooperation. After the Nanjing company exchanged their intentions for continued cooperation, they arrived at the Group's Lanshan office to check the quantity of logs and measurement standards on site. At this meeting, the two sides reached a consensus on how to deepen upstream and downstream cooperation, avoid risks, and cooperate for a win-win situation, laying a solid foundation for the Group's commodity business development.
